IPA Central Region demonstrates social responsibility

International Police Association Central Region under the auspices of IPA – Lesotho Section will renovate Thamae Police Station on July 20, 2018.

The Central Region chairperson Mr Lefu Thaele said the work will start at 10 a.m.

The purpose of the event is to renovate and paint about eight offices of one of the highly populated stations in the capital town, Maseru in Lesotho.

They are going to replace the broken window panes, do the floor and walls which seem to be dilapidated.

Thaele told our reporter that this precious endevour is the results of the support by the member of parliament of stadium area, where the station is situated.

He said Hon. Mokherane Tsatsanyane afforded them with materials and labour, and then IPA members will assist with human resource to make sure that the initiative becomes a success.

“We are intending to go to other police stations in future to do the same thing”, said Thaele.

Thaele highlighted that IPA Central Region is also willing to engage other activities with stadium area’s MP such as community policing issues.

He said their aim is to include many stakeholders in crime prevention strategies.

“We are going to employ in offering sanitary pads to the schools that will be identified as time goes on”, the chairperson commented.

We will recall that IPA’s aim and objectives is to see to it that serving and retired members of police in the world avail time to socialize provide social responsibility and to share cultural perspectives of different nations.

Therefore, as part of entertainment and educational activities they conduct trips, do crime prevention within the community and extend helping hand to the society.

Renovation of Thamae Police Station is one of the programmes at hand to show appreciation to the nation.

Lesotho Mounted Police Service public relations officer Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli confirmed that IPA Central Region has embarked on this occasion.

“Yes it is true that IPA Regional Central members are going to renovate Thamae Police Station on the said date”, concluded Mopeli.
