Leqele high school netball team grabbed a championship of Lesotho Netball Association finals.
These games took place at Lesotho Correctional Service sports arena in Maseru on July 21 to 22, 2018.
Six and four female and male teams respectively were at loggerhead at this extravaganza.
LNA Director of Development Mr Machela Telang said teams displayed their skills in netball.
“All teams were well prepared and exhibited good performance”, said Telang.
He further indicated that he has no doubt that netball grows in the country.
Clubs’ positions at the end of the games in the female category were, Leqele H.S, LCS, LDF, Leseli Tigers, First Number Leqele H.S. and Central Mafeteng.
Males stood thus, Leseli Tigers, LCS, Prince Netball club and Masitise H.S.
Telang showed that champions will receive their prizes latter.
“Prizes will include trophies and medals and they will be handed over to the teams in a date to be decided by LNA”, said LNA Director of Development.
He said as a way forward teams will start registration for the coming new league.
“Since there is a new LNA committee we are going to launch a fresh league too”, confirmed Telang.
Telang showed that they also prepared training of empires in a near future. He concluded by saying that they have a vision to introduce supper league for top four teams.
“We played very well”, said Thabo Mokobocho LCS public relations officer and a national coach.
He said unfortunately it is the first time they hold second position in 15 year’s period.
LCS teams on both ladies and men categories became runners up in the league finals.
Mokobocho said the performance of the competition was very high.
“As a national team coach I see bright future of good national team”, continue Mokobocho.
He showed that they could not make it to position one as usual due to King’s birthday commitments.
“We were involved in an annual event of King’s birthday preparations, therefore we didn’t have enough time to prepare for the finals”, said LCS PRO.
LCS PRO said in the next season they will work hard in order to bring back glory of their championship.
