Matlama football club is the first Econet Soccer Spectacular champion.
Matlama FC harassed Linare two zero (2-0) in the games that took place on August 27, 2018 at Setsoto stadium.
Teams that participated in this tournament were Liphakoe, Majantja, Linare and Matlama.
In the first game Matlama beat Majantja 4-0, while Linare “Tse tala tsa ‘Mamosa le Molapo” crushed Liphakoe 2-0.
As a result Matlama FC and Linare FC were at loggerhead at the final stage.
Four clubs that partook in this tournament were voted by their followers and business community. 14 Premier League teams became part and parcel of the voting process.
Therefore, Liphakoe, Majantja, Linare and Matlama succeeded to top four.
The purpose of the tournament was preparations for the league games that kick off on September 15.
Econet also sponsors Lesotho league with the tune of M6, 000.000 for three years, M2, 000.000 each year.
The coming season is the second one, since the sponsorship started last season.
In the meantime Lesotho national team Likuena grilled Eswatini 1-0 and 2-0 in the friendly games at Lesotho on August 27 and 28, 2018.
