Speaking in the press conference on November 5 sales manager Ms Maki Mokobocho indicated that ASMA2018 would be hosted on March 30, 2019 in Maseru.

Initially it was supposed to take place this coming weekend. Mokobocho said voting has not reached the quality it deserves.

As a result, Alliance management is not convinced about the voting, but still feels that it should continue. The standard set was that contestants should reach 100 votes to qualify. But only four in different categories managed to reach the target.

Therefore, contestants are given about four months to correct the situation. It is assumes that during that time most if not all of them would have reached the requirements.

Sports writers compete in different categories which include print, commentators, presenters, photographers and the legends in print and electronic media.

It was also raised that sponsors need to be accessed with more time to market their products. Again, more sponsors would want to join the existing ones.

Presently, sponsors that are on board include Vodacom Lesotho, Standard Lesotho Bank, Xerox, Bashoeshoe Pele, Maseru Toyota and Splitz Marketing. It is anticipated that more companies would join the race during this coming period.

On behalf of the LSRA the president Mr Nthako Majoro shared Mokobocho’s sentiment that more time should be availed in order for the companies to market themselves.

He passed his gratitude to all participating sponsors to make this prominent event a success for the second time in the country.

He showed that ASMA2017 reached its climax, and he wishes that currently they could do better than that.

Mr Telang Takane Xerox managing director explained that they came on board to contribute in the development of the journalists.

“It is not normal that journalists are honoured in this manner, I therefore urge you to work hard”, said Takane.

The managing director said competitors should utilize this opportunity to increase their votes so that they would be in a better position to scoop the awards.
