The Old Europa side Kick4Life responded to their critics with style last Saturday when they beat Matlama 2-0 at LCS ground on Econet Premier League match.
Kick4life played six games without a win and they were not favorites on their encounter against log leaders Matlama. Two goals came at second half of the game by Norman Kumatse and Tšeliso Botsane.
This win have saw Kick4life moving from 10 to nine position and Matlama dropped from one to the second position of the log standings.
This far both teams have played eight matches of the log. Matlama won five, drew two and lost one, they have collected 17 points. Matlama will play with the highly performing team, Bantu FC on their next encounter.
Meanwhile, Kick4life won two, draw three, lost three and managed to secure nine points. Kick4life will take on Likhopo FC on their next match.
Likhopo is battling to get out of relegation zone.
Lesotho Sports Blizz reporter approached Kick4Life concerning their recent win against Matlama.
Therefore, Kick4life assistant communication marketing manager Mr. Reitumetse Tlopo said they went to play Matlama on Saturday as underdogs, because nobody believed they will win against them.
“It was a tough game. Most people thought Matlama will just win it. I have seen the hunger and willingness to win a game from our boys,” he said.
Talking about their preparations ahead of that match with Matlama, Tlopo said there was no special training done.
“Training was normal like usual,” explained Tlopo.
He added that there were some crucial changes done on the starting line-up which helped them to win the game.
“Mokoteli Mohapi started with game playing a right back which is used to be played by Monne Pitso. The coach said Mohapi is energetic going forward and backward”, said the assistant CMM.
He said Mohapi played well because he was able to contain Jane Thabantšo when contesting on top balls.
“Matlama FC player Thabantšo is a dangerous player who can score goals, but Mohapi managed to contain him,” Tlopo concluded.
