Nkau Lerotholi, a defender at LMPS football club in the Lesotho Premier League scored the precious goal with 14 minutes left on the dot before a fairly big crowd.

It was chance after chance for both of sides to score. Simon Msuva had a first glance at the goal when he raced in to a long ball. He got in between the defender and goalkeeper, his loop, however missed the target.

On the other hand, Tumelo Khutlang was guilty of missing the most glorious opportunity. David Mwantika did not put enough effort on his initial back pass to Manula and Khutlang raced onto it but saw his effort hit cross-bar and back into play.

Tanzania coach, Emmanuel Amunike stated that the team played to their capacity and there were many mistakes made, at the end of the day they had to pay for it. He further stated that as a team, they were not able to defend from being defeated.

“We came here believing that the game is going to be easy but the game was not easy. We did play but the reality is that, we have lost”, Amunike added.

The coach congratulated Likuena for good performance of taking their chances of scoring. He further explained that supporters of the team came all the way to show support but unfortunately they were not able to give good performance.

Likuena coach, Moses Maliehe also congratulated his boys and the Basotho who came and give the team courage to win. He added that they were also desperate to win the game and the boys were expecting more of the goals because they doubled their effort.

Tanzania will have to wait until March next year to know their African Cup of Nations qualification fate after their one-nil loss to Lesotho in their penultimate group L qualifier. Likuena will be going to Cape Verde next year with the hope that things might turn around.
