The runner of People’s Runners Club and development Tong Tong Sports Academy Mr Neo Ramarou says he will join the international runners in Lesotho High Altitude Summer Marathon.
This event is scheduled to take place in Mokhotlong on December first, 2018. Races include 5km, 10km for the first time, 21.1km and 42.2km.
The winner of 42.2km will grab M120, 000. The top 10 in all categories will be awarded with cash prizes.
Ramarou explained that after he experienced spinal injuries and spend one and half years without training resumed in May this year.
He is adamant that runners from his clubs would perform adequately.
“Runners from Tong Tong Sports Academy would compete in 5km race”, said Ramarou.
Tong Tong stressed that 42.2km race involve lots of hills.
He showed that since he would take part in the 21.1km it means that their starting point is at Ha Khatleli to Mokhotlong town.
Ramarou showed that competition would be too high since they are expecting renowned athletes from abroad and African continent.
He indicated that as for these races time is not important, but the aim is to maintain fitness, especially for those who prepare themselves for comrades and two oceans marathons. These two marathons take place in Republic of South Africa.
“This race is very unique because it takes place on the hills”, concluded Ramarou.
