LNIG launches top 8 kit

Lesotho National Insurance Company (LNIG) hold a press conference at Bambatha Sports Arena on Thursday afternoon. The aim was launching of a football kit to be used by the participating teams in LNIG Top 8 2018/2019 tournament.

The competition kicks off on March, 2 at Setsoto stadium in Maseru.

On behalf of the sponsor of top 8, Mr Qamako Mahao indicated that the company has approved to sponsor the top 8 teams on the league standings as to improve sports in the country.

“We have decided to sponsor soccer amongst others”, said Mr Mahao.

Mr Mahao said the company sponsors football given that it is a sport that has more supporters. He further suggested that sponsoring football add value on people’s lives. Lately most of the players survive because of soccer, on account that it created jobs for them.

Mr Mahao insisted that all these money should arrive to the teams and benefits them. He emphasised that teams must use this money profitable.

He noted that management of LNIG will continue working with Premier League Management Committee (PLMC) because they are doing their best with the teams; hence they are growing together every season.

Furthermore, Mr Mahao urged participating teams to respect the kit because it has their company logo even after LNIG top 8 tournament. He congratulated Majantja FC to take part in LNIG top 8 given that it has been many years without having a team from further south.

Chairperson of PLMC Mr Ikarabeleng Sello acknowledged the sponsor on behalf of teams for doing well.

“I am proud that these season supporters have increased in large numbers at soccer fields. I would like to thank LNIG for sponsoring marketing and promoting of this competition,” said Sello.

Mr Mokhosi Mohapi Secretary General of Lesotho Football Association said football is growing annually in the country. As a result, this affect the running of football in the Lesotho due to economic issues.

“May the best team win”, he said.

Teams which will participate for this tournament commencing on March 2 are: Bantu FC, Majantj FC , Lioli FC, Kick4life FC, Matlama FC, Lesotho Mounted Police Service FC (LMPS), Lesotho Defence Force FC(LDF) and Lesotho Correctional Service FC.
