Lioli Football Club (Tse Nala) has on Sunday beaten Kick4life Football Club 12-11 in long penalty shootout in MGC Soccer Spectacular tournament at Setsoto Stadium.
In the early stage of an encounter both side did some count attacks in search of the opening goal.
Old Europa side could have been the first side to break a deadlock when Modirwa Obakeng took a shot, but Lioli’s goalkeeper came out in full stretch to deny him.

Towards the half an hour mark of the first half, Tse Nala nearly forced Kick4life FC to score an own goal after Teele Likano deflected the ball but Kick4life goalkeeper, Sebapala Motlatsi made a quick save.
In 30 minutes of the play, Tse Nala was enjoying much time on the ball. However they didn’t execute their chances because their passes were pool in the final third.
A minute later Lekhanya Lekhanya picked Tumelo Makha whose strike went over the posts one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
Tse Nala was unstoppable in the dying minutes of the first half when Motlalepula Mofolo took a long range shot which was punched by Kick4life’s goalkeeper.
In the 10th minute of the second half Old Europa side was too strong for Lioli. They were pressing them in their own half but fail to finish their chances.
Kick4life FC could have scored in the half an hour mark of the second half after receiving a goal scoring opportunity, but Norman Kumatse was denied by Lioli’s goalkeeper, Liteboho Mokhehle.
The game ended 0-0 for both sides but Lioli won 12-11 on penalty shootouts and qualified to meet Bantu FC on semi-finals.
Speaking with the media team, Kick4life head coach Mr. Bob Mafoso said they played well despite losing the game.
“We had a great game although we lost it. We had a clear goal scoring opportunities than our opponents but at end we were defeated on penalties,” he said.
On the other hand, Lioli’s assistant coach Mr. Mosholu Mokhothu said his side played well and their aim is to win the competition (MGC tournament).
“We played well and if you can consider the way we played you would see that our aim was to win and I am hopeful that we will win this tournament,” he said.
