Lesotho Defence Force Football Club grabbed Lesotho National Insurance Group Top 8 competition by grilling Lesotho Correctional Service 2-1.
The last day of this tournament took place at Setsoto stadium on April, 7 2019.
LDF FC went away with M100, 000 and its runner up LCS FC got M80, 000. Bantu and Matlama came positions three and four and won M60, 000 and M50, 000 respectively.
“I am very happy that LDF FC grabbed LNIG Top 8 2019 trophy”, said LDF FC coach Mr Motheo Mohapi. He said LDF FC supporters like other teams will enjoy this win very much after a long time without winning any cup.
Mohapi showed that his plan was that the team should work collectively in attack and defence.
He concluded his interview by saying that the way forward is that they want to see LDF FC in the top four of the premier league.
On the other side LCS FC had a potential of winning this game, but unfortunately they lost.
According to LCS FC coach Mr Mpitsa Marai LDF FC got one chance in the first half and utilized it profitably. While they got the second chance in the second half.
“From there we have frustration in my team, which we dealt with”, said Marai. He said they put more pressure on the opponents and missed so many chances.
“The lucky team won”, he continued. He further explained that after this they are going to focus on the Econet premier league games.
