International Cricket Council World Cup will be a challenge and wake up call to Lesotho in terms of development, standard facilities and good administration. This was said by Lesotho Cricket Association development officer Mr Lekoatsa Chaka in an exclusive interview.
Cricket World Cup is scheduled to kick off at the end of next month hosted by the England and Wales. It starts from May 30 to July 14.
The cricket format is one day international and 10 teams are expected to participate in this endevour.
Chaka said the first match between England and South Africa due to their historical background as far as cricket is concerned is going to be tough.
“The most important aspect that we should consider is experience”, said the LCA development office.
He said SA has good players who are most experienced, players like Dale Steyn, Hashim Amla, Imran Tahir, David Miller, Van der Dussen and many more so they prepared well. On another note, England is the host so that’s gives them a certain percentage above SA.
Again, the good and experienced players like Eoin Morgan, Joe Root, Alex Heles, Mark Wood, Jason Roy and Tom Curran would show case best performance.
“So in a nutshell, its going to be a very tough game. As for the winner of ICC Cricket World Cup I hope India has a wider opportunity to win the cup”, he continued.
He explained that this is because all nine countries cannot beat India’s experience.
