As window period for elite football leagues is ongoing since the first January 2020 and ends on 31 few teams have complied.
According to FIFA Connect System only one Lesotho Premier League team FC Likhopo and few “A” Division clubs have registered.
Expectations regarding registration by Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) is that all players and officials, particularly registration of players to be complaint with the law. They expect all teams to be cognizant of the regulations and every instrument that governs player registration and player status regulations.
“Late registration prejudices players and officials as they will have to wait for a further six months before playing football again if not registered”, said LeFA Secretary General Mr Mokhosi Mohapi.
Mohapi indicated that for teams to comply they talk to them and also involve media to make even the fans and supporters aware of what is happening, because many times when clubs fail to deliver on their responsibilities they take it out on the association.
“This approach pushes teams to do what is expected”, concluded LeFA SG.
