The 2019/20 premier league runner up Matlama football club beat Swallows 2-1 at Setsoto stadium last weekend.
Matlama got early own goal after a good pass from Phafa Tšosane at the 4th minute of the game. Paseka Pita netted the second one.
Swallows FC scored at the early minutes of the second half (47th minute) by Tšeliso Sello.
Matlama coach Mr. Charles Manda indicated that it was a nice match in the first half, but during second half, the pitch was wet because the rain.
“We wanted to score more two goals in the second half but the rain worked against us”, said Manda.
He said in the game of football anything could happen, Sallows could have equalized but in vain.
On the other side Swallows FC coach Mr. Mahlomola Moea showed that his team did not make it in the first half.
“Tactically our opponents were good from the wings and used diagonal passes behind us.
During second half, they prevented Matlama FC from long balls. As a result, they managed to score the first and the only goal.
“We could have scored more goals but the field was not playable due to rain. But I am satisfied the way my players performed”, concluded Moea.
