Senong reveals Likuena final squad

Lesotho national coach Thabo Senong revealed 21-member squad early today on a zoom meeting held at Bambatha Sports Arena in Maseru, Lesotho.

The first AFCON qualifier game will kick off at Setsoto stadium against Sierra Leone on 27 March this year.   

After few days, Likuena will be on loggerhead with Nigeria in an away game.

Former Ex-Bafana Bafana assistant coach Senong showed that they had a fruitful four-week training in a bio bubble model.

Players have been in a camp at Bambatha and tested COVID 19 frequently.

However, they had challenges with players based outside the country who joined the team late and others did not show up.

Likuena final squad for Sierra Leone and Nigeria games:

Goalkeepers: Monaheng Ramalefane, Sekhoane Moerane, Ntsane Lichaba.

Defenders: Thabang Malane, Thabo Lesaoana, Basia Makepe, Motlomelo Mkhwanazi, Nkau Lerotholi, Bokang Sello and Thabo Matšoele.

Midfielders: Tau Masiu, Tumelo Ngatane, Hlompho Kalake, Mokoteli Mohapi, Neo Mokhachane, Litšepe Marabe, Tšepo Toloane and Lehlohonolo Fothoane.

Striker: Motebang Sera, Tumelo Khutlang and Nkoto Masoabi.

Lisema Lebokollane and Jane Thabantšo were ruled out of the games with injuries. While Thabiso Brown faced challenges flying out of South America and had to go back to Bolivia.

The head coach concluded that Tšepo Seturumane who started the training failed to appear for training in two days.

From there on the third day, he showed up and reported himself sick, and asked to be released.
