International Police Association – Lesotho Section Police headquarters district elected nine-member committee last week.
The committee stood thus:
- Chairperson: Mr. Clifford Molefe
- Deputy chairperson: Mrs. Tebello Letsie
- Secretary: Mrs. ‘Mamatekane Ntlamelle
- Vice Secretary: Mr. Tau Sehloho
- Treasurer: Mrs. ‘Mareabetsoe Mofoka
- Members: Mr. Mokheseng Moiloa, Mr. Noko Nyenye, Mrs. Tholoana Khoaele and Mr. Limpho Khashole
The outgoing committee members were:
- Chairperson: Mr. Sekhonyana Mofoka
- Deputy chairperson: Mr Clifford Molefe
- Secretary: Mrs. ‘Mamatekane Ntlamelle
- Vice secretary: Mrs. Nolinda Ndaba
- Treasurer: Mrs. ‘Mareabetsoe Mofoka
- Members: Mr. Noko Nyenye, Mrs Chonilanga, Mr. Tšepo Seliane and Mr Thipane
This initiative came after the instructions by the national executive committee (NEC) instructions as the constitution dictates.
The meeting, which took place at police officer’s mess in Maseru, began with the reports presented by the outgoing committee.
Mrs. ‘Mamatekane Ntlamelle highlighted the members that nothing much was done due to the COVID 19 restrictions.
She showed that two cleaning campaigns were held at Police headquarters premises.
In the second cleaning campaign SSU/SOU district was invited and was graced by the presence of the President of the IPA-Lesotho Section Mr. Holomo Molibeli.
Challenges raised indicated that due to corona virus pandemic most of the work plan items were not achieved.
They included crime prevention at Ha Thetsane whereby one of the Maseru Urban police stations would be reinforced to curb the taxi owner’s conflicts.
There would be a fun day by which one orphanage would be identified in order to extend a helping hand.
They had also planned that members could be engaged in a tour to Botswana Section and entertainment.
