Lesotho Cricket Association (LCA) has embarked on youth development in Lesotho.
On July, 29 and 30 this year coaching clinic and refresher course took place at Mohale’shoek in the southern part of Lesotho.
The participants were trained last year.

Development Officer Lekoatsa Chaka told our reporter that trainees were teachers and students from primary and high schools around Mohale’shoek.
Chaka said the aim of the course was to renew skills and knowledge coaches acquired last year.
We tried to address all challenges encountered by the coaches during their work.
There were five women and seven coaches benefited from this precious endevour.
Moreover, 37 athletes from primary schools under 12, 13 and 15 were accessed with basic skills on how to play cricket.
The LCA Development Officer said ICC has introduced entry level for young aspiring players.
Therefore, players were equipped with relevant basic skills prior to mini cricket.
“It has been a successful course, participants were well prepared”, concluded Lekoatsa.
In the meanwhile, T20 tournament will continue at Leribe in the northern part of Lesotho.
Maseru group has completed their preliminary matches and waiting for the semifinals and finals, which will be played on August 8 and 15.
The following games would take place.
Hlotse 11 CC vs All-stars CC – 10:00 hrs.
Lerotholi Polytechnic CC vs Leribe CC – 12:00 hrs.
More grass roots level development programme should be done. Coaching clinics, schools playing each other should a priority
