One of the Lesotho’s heroes in football Tumelo ”Makhopo” Khutlang continues to make Basotho proud.
Khutlang has signed a two year deal with South African premier league team Swallows football club.
A 25 years old icon played for Black Leopards in the same league since 2018.
“Yes I have signed with Swallows and my contract is for two years and one year option. My contract have started as we speak”, said Makhopo.
The former team did not kick him out but they have to sit down and straightened some issues.
“At some point I had to make decision if I am staying or I am leaving because we had negotiations about salary cuts so that’s why we decided to part ways because we did not agree or I did not agree to get a salary cut, so they didn’t fire me at all.
“I am not in a position to disclose my salary to the media”, Khutlang told LSB
When asked what he can convey to Basotho back home he said:
“All I can say is I will like to make most of it”.
The Lesotho Football Association president Advocate Salemane Phafane (KC), on behalf of the football fraternity in the mountain kingdom congratulates senior national team star Tumello Khutlang following his big move to Swallows FC.
“Khutlang was impressive for the national team despite the first round exit at the recent COSAFA Cup held in South Africa. In this endevour he scored a beautiful free kick against Eswatini and also walked away with the man of the match accolade in the 2-1 victory over Zambia”, said Phafane
Khutlang was born in 1995 at Teyateyaneng in Berea district southern part of Lesotho.
He played center forward in Black Leopards with jersey number four. He also show case in the Lesotho national team (Jersey No. 18).
At youth international level, he played in the 2013 COSAFA under 20 cup and 2015 African U-20 Championship qualifiers.
