Former Lesotho National team players in Kananelo Makhooane and Tebello Makuru on Sunday left the country for Johannesburg, South Africa, where they will be part of recently retired players from the COSAFA region attending the weeklong UEFA Academy Career Transition Programme.
The European Football body has been hard at work in the continent through its UEFA Assist programme, having recently held a weeklong Administration workshop for the COSAFA region in Durban.
Both Makhooane and Makuru represented their country at junior and Senior teams level playing for the national Under-20 teams in the male and female categories as well as Likuena and Mehalalitoe respectively.
Makhooane will also be remembered for helping Makoanyane XI qualify for the 2011 African Youth Championship. The Career Transition Programme is specifically designed for players with tertiary qualifications, who have just retired from the game.
