Likuena duo of Refiloe Mothae and Letlatsa Moshoeshoe are over the moon to have won their first caps for the Senior National team, Likuena.
Mothae was named in the starting lineup while Moshoeshoe came in as a second-half substitute in Likuena’s 3-1 victory over Seychelles to advance to the group stage of the qualifiers for the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Moshoeshoe admitted that he struggled to cope with the high tempo of the match when he was introduced, but managed to settle into the game with time.
“The tempo of the match was very high as I was introduced into the match and it took me a bit of time to find my footing, but once I did there was no looking back. I’m very happy to have finally won my first cap for the national team.” Moshoeshoe said.
Mothae: “It was more fulfilling that my first cap came with a win to help the team advance to the group stage of the qualifiers. Like I said before, for me to be part of the final squad for massive success on its own and I knew that I would get my chance to play and I’m very grateful.”
