The Lesotho Football Association would like to inform the media fraternity that due to financial constraints and lack of support from the Government of Lesotho through the Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports and Recreation, the Senior National team, Likuena has not been enrolled in the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
The Association spent over M2 million for the recent preliminary round matches against Seychelles having had to host its home matches at Dobsonville Stadium as Setsoto Stadium remains suspended from hosting international matches.
The move will also accommodate Women and Junior teams to continue with their training programmes as well as participation in international competitions.
Likuena will put their focus on the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations group stage qualifying campaign as well as participating in the COSAFA Cup to be staged in July in South Africa.
