The Lesotho Football Association delegation consisting of President Advocate Salemane Phafane (KC), NEC Member Mr. Molefe Sekonyela and the Secretary-General Mr. Mokhosi Mohapi, on Sunday, attended the FIFA Executive Football Summit, which was opened by FIFA President Mr. Gianni Infantino.
The LeFA President is also serving the FIFA Disciplinary Committee at the Global Showpiece in Qatar.
In his welcome speech, the FIFA President briefed the delegates on the FIFA financial cycle 2023-2026 and the FIFA Forward 3.0.
Mr. Infantino also thanked the delegates for nominating him for the FIFA Presidential elections to be held next year.
The delegates were also welcomed by His Highness the Emir of Qatar, Tamim Bin Hamad Sheikh Al Thani.
The FIFA President further briefed the delegates about the FIFA Clearinghouse, a system that will be used to track player development and compensate clubs that develop young players.
Mr. Infantino stated that discussions are at an advanced stage to bridge gender equality in football.
Others who took to the stage at the Summit include Arsene Wenger, who is the Chief of Global Football Development at FIFA.
He presented to the FIFA Member Associations about the Talent Development Scheme (TDS).
The programme which was launched in 2020 by the football governing body and aims to provide MAs with a thorough analysis of their high-performance ecosystem in both men and Women’s football including all the national teams, domestic leagues, scouting projects and academies in order to ensure that every talented player gets the chance to reach their full potential.
